Cataract Treatment in Spring Hill

Expert diagnosis & cataract surgery post-op care

If you’ve been noticing vision changes, such as blurry vision, trouble seeing at night, or more frequent changes to your prescription, cataracts may be the cause. At Spring Hill Eyecare, our eye doctors provide comprehensive cataract care, starting with a thorough evaluation and personalized treatment plan.

For many patients, early cataract symptoms can be managed successfully with an updated prescription or lifestyle changes. When surgery eventually becomes necessary, we’ll refer you to a trusted ophthalmologist and continue supporting your vision with comprehensive post-operative care in our office.

What are cataracts?

A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens—the part of the eye responsible for focusing light onto the retina. It occurs when proteins in the lens begin to break down and clump together, making it increasingly difficult for light to pass through clearly.

Cataracts are most commonly associated with aging, but they can also develop as a result of eye trauma, prolonged UV exposure, or certain medical conditions such as diabetes

Cataract symptoms

Cataracts often develop gradually, and early on, you may not notice any significant changes in your vision. As the condition progresses, you may begin to experience:

  • Blurry or hazy vision
  • Increased sensitivity to light
  • Difficulty seeing clearly at night
  • Halos or glare around lights
  • Trouble reading small print
  • Colors that appear dull or washed out
  • More frequent changes to your glasses or contact lens prescription

What to expect during a cataract consultation

During your cataract consultation, our eye doctors will perform a comprehensive eye exam using advanced diagnostic technology to assess the health and clarity of your lenses. We’ll determine the progression of your cataracts and evaluate how they’re affecting your day-to-day vision.

Based on your results, we’ll explain your treatment options and create a personalized care plan designed around your needs and stage of cataract development.

Cataract surgery co-management and post-operative care

When surgery becomes necessary, we’ll refer you to a trusted, experienced ophthalmologist for the procedure and coordinate your care throughout the entire process. After surgery, you’ll return to our office for all your follow-up visits, where we’ll monitor your healing, address any concerns, and make sure your vision is recovering as expected.
